minor issues marred the stay
dated bath inconvenient order
The bathroom really let the room down. it included a very dated grey bath. a bath mat covered a white patch in the base. Obviously, there was a crack. also, i wish breakfast didn't need to be ordered the day before, it felt inconvenient

wonderful stay with excellent hosts
amazing host comfortable bed early bag drop quick overnight
i needed a hotel for a quick overnight stay. i found the gatsby and craig and julie were amazing hosts. julie kindly let us drop off our bags early. the beds were so comfortable i had the best sleep ever.
i noticed some dust on the window ledges in the room. it was a very minor thing but i mention it for completeness.

the hotel is near the tram stop. trams run frequently to the pleasure beach. it made getting around very convenient and easy. this was a plus for our visit.

the hotel provided tea and coffee making facilities. this meant i could have a hot drink whenever i wanted. it added a homey feel to the stay. it was very accessible.

dusty ledge old taps
the breakfast tasted good and was a solid start to the day.
the bathroom was disappointing. the bath had a mat covering a white patch, probably a crack. the taps were hard to use and felt old. i also noticed dust on the window ledges, which isn't great for someone with asthma, like me.

i stayed in a superior king room. the bed was comfortable. breakfast offered many choices. i enjoyed the homemade marmalade very much. staff addressed everyone by name, a personal touch.

Craig and Julie were really good hosts. The breakfast was great (especially the selection!). I even bought a jar of the homemade marmalade.
